Privacy Policy
We collect as little as we can. Playing alone against bots needs no account and sends no personal data to us. This page explains what is stored when you do use accounts or online tables.

Who we are
MyMahjong (mymahjong.club) is an independent Mahjong learning and play site. For any question about your data, write to us at the address below.
Playing alone and using the tools
The games against bots, the calculators, the scoring guides and the Score Keeper run in your browser. Your settings (such as language, sound and table style) and any score records you save are kept in your browser storage on your own device. They are not sent to our server.
Members and online tables
Online play is limited to approved members. When you register we collect:
- your email address,
- the display name you choose,
- your gender (kept for future voice and avatar options; other players cannot see it),
- the date you registered, when you were approved and when you last signed in.
If you register a club or join one, we also store the club you chose or created. For a club that means its name, city, country, variants, approximate size, short description and the organiser's name and email address. Only the club name, city and country are shown publicly, and only after we approve the club.
You sign in with a one-time code. Enter your email address and we send a 6-digit code to it, valid for 10 minutes and usable once, so only the owner of that address can sign in. There is no password or permanent code. After a correct code, this device receives a random sign-in token (valid 90 days) that your browser keeps in its local storage so you stay signed in; we store only a one-way hash of it. Signing out, or an administrator removing your access, cancels the token. Codes are kept only in the memory of the server.
During an online game the server processes the moves and the name shown at the table in order to run the game. A running game is held in the memory of the server. When a hand at an online table ends, we add the result to your member record: how many hands you played, won, drew and lost, your best hand and your net points, for each rule set. Only you see these figures, in the member profile box. Your games against the bots are counted on your own device only.
Technical data
Like any website, our server and our hosting provider handle technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use it to deliver the site, to keep it secure and to limit abuse, for example by limiting the number of connections from one address. We do not use it to build profiles.
How we use and share data
- To let approved members sign in and play online.
- To contact you about your registration, if needed.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers that run the service, and when the law requires it: our hosting provider, and an email delivery service (Resend) that sends your sign-in code to your email address, so it receives that address and your name. These providers may be located outside your country.
How long we keep it
Member records are kept while your membership exists. If you ask us to delete your data, or your access is withdrawn, we remove your record. Server backups are overwritten in the normal rotation.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. Write to the email address above from the address you registered with. You can also clear your browser storage at any time to remove the settings and records saved on your device.
Children
MyMahjong is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has registered, please tell us and we will remove the record.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date at the top.
