Terms of Use

Who we are and what this is

MyMahjong (mymahjong.club) is an independent website to learn Mahjong and to play it against bots or with other people online. It is free to use. For any question about these terms, write to us:

info@mymahjong.club

MyMahjong is not run by, and is not endorsed by, the organisations whose rules it follows (the Victoria Mahjong Club, the Hong Kong Mahjong Association and the World Mahjong Organization). Their names are used only to credit the rules.

Your account

• Playing against the bots and using the guides, calculators and score keeper needs no account. Online tables need one.
• Give a real email address that you control. We send your sign-in codes there.
• Keep your email account and your sign-in codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Nobody from MyMahjong will ever ask you for a code.
• Choose a name that is fine to show to other players at a table.
• You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy page).

Fair play and conduct

Please play the way you would at a real table. You must not:

• use programs, scripts or other help to play for you or to learn other players' hidden tiles at an online table;
• insult, harass or threaten other players, or choose a name that is offensive or pretends to be someone else;
• try to get into other people's accounts, to break or overload the service, or to read data that is not yours;
• collect content from the site automatically, or use it to build a competing service;
• use the site for anything illegal.

We may remove players, rooms or clubs, and suspend or end accounts, that break these rules, with or without warning.

Clubs

The organiser who registers a club is responsible for the details given and for having the right to use the club name. We approve clubs by hand and may refuse, edit or remove a club. People join a club voluntarily, and a club listing does not mean that we run or guarantee that club.

Content and rights

The texts, drawings, tile artwork, code and design of MyMahjong belong to MyMahjong or its licensors. You may use the site for your own learning and play. Please do not copy, sell or republish it without asking us first. The rule sets of the Victoria Mahjong Club and the Hong Kong Mahjong Association are used with their permission and are credited on the site.

The service as it is

• MyMahjong is provided as it is. It can be slow, change or stop, and games can be interrupted. We do not promise that it is always available or free of mistakes.
• The scoring tools, the Coach and the guides follow published rules, but they can contain errors or differ from the rules used at your table or tournament. For official events, check the official rules.
• We keep backups, but we cannot promise that data will never be lost.
• We may add, change or remove features, and the service may one day become paid or end. If that affects your account, we will say so on the site.

Our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, MyMahjong and the people who run it are not responsible for losses that come from using, or not being able to use, the site, such as lost games, lost data or decisions made from the Coach's advice. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending your use

You can stop using MyMahjong at any time and sign out. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we have to for legal or security reasons.

Privacy

How we handle your data is explained on the Privacy page. Please read it as well.

Changes and questions

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If something goes wrong, please write to us first; we will try to solve it fairly.
